“The essence of metaphor is understanding and experiencing one kind of thing in terms of another.”
-George Lakoff and Mark Johnson, Metaphors We Live By

My name is Eileen Mooney, and I am a mathematics teacher and department chair at a boarding school in Connecticut. My background is eclectic, as I focused on philosophy in my undergraduate studies, and painting for my first Master's degree. I am graduating from Harvard Extension School with an ALM in Mathematics for Teaching in the spring of 2015. I have been teaching for mathematics for twelve years, and have been involved in teaching art on and off for the last ten years.
